Six Senators were officially proclaimed today. Grace Poe, the newly elected senator, still led the poll. Sonny Angara was also one of the newly elected senators while among the re-elected were Loren Legarda, Chiz Esqudero and Peter Alan Cayetano. Meanwhile, newly elected senator Nancy Binay did not attend the proclamation today.
Former censor chief Grace Poe vows to give attention to the poor. Her advocacy was focused on the malnutrition and education of the poor children in the country.
Veteran Senator Loren Legarda is serving her third term. She first won the elections in 1998. She has also attempted to run for vice presidential elections during 2004 and 2010.
Re-electionist Chiz Esqudero previously served as a member of the house of representative from the 1st distrcit of Sorsogon before running for Senate in 2007.
Peter Alan Cayetano has been also serving the Senate since 2007. His campaign this year was focused on "PTK" which stands for "Presyo, Trabaho at Kita". Senator Peter Cayetano believes that addressing problems in these three areas will help Filipinos improve their living.
Neophyte Nancy Binay has served as an assistant to her father. Her advocacy were focused on securing the health and education of the poor.
On the other hand, newly elected senator Sonny Angara was an advocate of educational reform.
